STUCK
IN NEUTRAL, an award-winning first
novel for young adults, is the story of Shawn McDaniel.
He is an enigma and a miracle --- except no one
knows it, least of all his father. The reader learns
to look beyond the obvious and find a character
whose spirit is rich beyond imagining and whose
story is unforgettable.

Even though I read an earlier draft of it while "in the making."
I'm going to read some Dickens (to go along
with my trip to the UK this summer) and try to re-visit Nikos Kazantzakis'
THE
LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST. If there's reading time left, I'll
probably pick up some biographies (I love Civil War bios: Lincoln,
Grant, Sherman, Lee) and with the final few moments of guilty pleasure
reading I'll hit the true crime genre (thank you, Ann Rule).
