Stuart Krichevsky

Bio

Stuart Krichevsky began his publishing career in 1980 as a part-time mail clerk at The Sterling Lord Agency (now known as Sterling Lord Literistic). He became an agent there and remained with the firm until 1995, when he left to establish the Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency, Inc.

In the agency's first five years in business, Krichevsky has represented five New York Times bestsellers, including THE PERFECT STORM by Sebastian Junger and IN THE HEART OF THE SEA by Nathaniel Philbrick, winner of the National Book Award for Non-fiction.

He represents a wide range of non-fiction authors, from Paulina Borsook (CYBERSELFISH: A Critical Romp through the Terribly Libertarian Culture of High-Tech) to Ben Yagoda (ABOUT TOWN: THE NEW YORKER AND THE WORLD IT MADE, a New York Times notable book of the year). He also represents a successful list of novelists, with a concentration in the mystery and suspense field, including Laurence Shames (THE NAKED DETECTIVE) and Tom Savage (SCAVENGER).

He is a native of New York City and a graduate of New York University. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Authors' Representatives, and currently serves on its Contracts Committee.

The Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency

The Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency has represented five New York Times bestsellers in its first five years in business: THE PERFECT STORM by Sebastian Junger; DIE BROKE by Stephen M. Pollan and Mark Levine; JUST DESSERTS: THE UNAUTHORIZED BIOGRAPHY OF MARTHA STEWART by Jerry Oppenheimer; THE HUNGRY OCEAN by Linda Greenlaw; and IN THE HEART OF THE SEA by Nathaniel Philbrick, which won the National Book Award for Non-fiction in 2000.

Stuart Krichevsky, who founded the agency in 1995, has over twenty years experience in the agency business. He began his career in the mail room (literally) at The Sterling Lord Agency (now Sterling Lord Literistic) and was with that company for fifteen years before entrepreneurial interests compelled him to start his own agency.

Krichevsky is the principal agent with the firm, which represents a broad list of novelists as well as non-fiction writers.
