2. AOTW: How long did it take you to write your book?

Dr. Jane Plant: I had done the research over about six years following my recovery. Once I decided to write the book it took me six months to complete the text.

Laney Katz Becker: A few months. But I worked around the clock and all weekends. I did little else and my kids were begging me to puhlease stop writing and go to the supermarket!

Barbara Delinsky: I spent four-plus months collecting submissions for the book, and two months culling through them, choosing the best ones for the book, organizing them, and writing introductions to each chapter. Those pieces of my own experience that appear in Uplift are in these introductions.

Jennie Nash: I wrote the first draft in about six weeks, which is really fast. I spent about two more months revising it and working with my editor to polish it for publication.
