5. AOTW: What is one thing that you would want readers to take away from your book?

Jennie Nash: A new understanding of a way they are wise. Some people will have learned the same lessons I did, but many people learn lessons that are very particular to them alone. We each draw our own strength and wisdom from adversities and I hope my book helps people tap into that. Of course, I also hope they remember the title and tell a friend!

Laney Katz Becker: All women are at risk. Don't think you're immune because there's no family history or because you exercise like a maniac and eat a healthy diet. There are no "free passes." Being female is all it takes to be at risk. Also, I hope women reading my book learn the value of a second opinion. It saved my life.

Barbara Delinsky: The understanding that breast cancer is not a death sentence. Too often in the past, we’ve only heard about the women who die. Well, millions and millions of women are conquering breast cancer and going on to lead long and healthy lives. We are a quiet majority --- not activists, simply women who’ve dealt and moved on.  Those of us whose attitudes are upbeat find that our lives are better, richer, and fuller after breast cancer than they were before.

Dr. Jane Plant: To change to the diet that saved my life.
