AOTW: It has been said that nonfiction has a marketing/publicity advantage over fiction because there's often an existing target audience. Are there any disadvantages of writing a nonfiction book instead of a novel?
Tony Perrottet: Hmmm I don't know. Except that you're stuck following all those facts instead of letting your imagination run riot! And there's a certain cachet in writing a novel that nonfiction lacks at least if you're writing "literary fiction."
Emma Sweeney: I've never tried to write a novel so I don't know.
Maria Rosa Menocal: I have no idea, since I have never written a novel.
