Andy Straka
Featured by Publishers Weekly as one of ten rising stars in crime fiction, Andy Straka's debut private eye novel, A Witness Above, was a regional and independent mystery store bestseller and garnered Shamus, Anthony, and Agatha Award nominations for best first novel in 2002. That was followed by the second book in the Pavlicek series, A Killing Sky, which has recently been nominated for the Anthony Award for Best Paperback Original Novel as well as received a Library of Virginia literary award nomination. Andy is a native of upstate New York. He graduated from Williams College where he majored in English and was captain of the basketball team, and then worked in publishing and medical sales for nearly fifteen years. Now a full time writer, he is also a falconry enthusiast and a registered private investigator, not to mention an identical twin. The newest release in the Pavlicek series is Cold Quarry.
