June Sobel

About the Author

Born the oldest of three sisters in Queens New York, June Sobel was encouraged to love reading at an early age thanks to her father. She also loved to draw and paint which eventually influenced her decision to major in art in college. With the birth of her son, Adam, June rediscovered the read-aloud magic of books for the very young. She wrote the book she couldn’t find for her heavy-equipment obsessed toddler, an ABC book about construction that also told a story. B Is For Bulldozer – A Construction ABC (illustrated by Melissa Iwai) became her first book. It was followed by another rollicking alphabet adventure, Shiver Me Letters – A Pirate ABC (illustrated by Henry Cole.) A cross-country train trip inspired the bedtime travels of her bestseller The Goodnight Train (illustrated by Laura Huliska-Beith).

June lives in Westlake Village, California with her husband, Mark Raudonis.

Testimonial

June Sobel:

I feel fortunate to have found AuthorsOnTheWeb to redesign my outdated website. Carol Fitzgerald and Jennifer Lai understand the needs of authors and the impact of their presence in social media. As a children’s writer, I am thrilled how my new website captures the playful spirit of my books. They were wonderful to work with and I highly recommend this team to any author who needs a brand new or refreshed website!
